I have been doing this sort of work as a living since January 2007. For twenty-seven years prior I was a computer programmer. I lived in Texas until the company sent me to San Francisco to teach programming and help the customer get started with a new project. What was supposed to be an eight- week assignment turned into six months and then became indeterminate. That was 1996. I never left.  After my contract expired in 2005 I became a computer consultant. I found consulting to be tiring and unfulfilling. I quit computers. It was time for me to get up from my desk.

A customer asked me "What makes you think you're a good handyman?"

"I took shop class in the 7th grade" was my reply.

I studied engineering, computer science, and economics at University of Texas Arlington.  I graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

"I strive for perfection but settle for completion."
